The Kentucky Humane Society is asking for help after another dog in horrible condition has been dumped at its door.

According to a Facebook, a staff member was headed to the recycling bin Friday when they found a closed cardboard box that said: “FOUND HELP ME.” The box was taped shut with air holes.

When they opened the box, inside was an emaciated puppy with inflamed skin, swollen from infection. He was missing almost all of his fur and was bloody from the sores that covered his body, KHS said.

He was apparently so weak from demodectic mange and malnutrition that he could not stand on his own.

KHS said they believe the dog is 6 to 8 months old and has been suffering for so long, that his immune system is not functioning properly.

“We were not sure if he would make it past the weekend,” they said in the post.

He weighs only 15 pounds but has adult teeth, so they think his growth may have been stunted from lack of nutrition.

“This puppy – whom we have not named yet – has a long road ahead of him,” KHS said.

As for how the dog ended up there, KHS said their security cameras show a man leaving from the area where the puppy was found around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

KHS asks anyone who is touched to help this dog survive to donate here.

Many on the post were quick to bring up Ethan’s name, another dog KHS healed from a devastating condition.

Here’s to hoping this dog has the same success story.
