Man shot, killed near 23rd and Wisconsin


Milwaukee police say a man was shot and killed near North 23rd Street and West Wisconsin Avenue just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday.Police and family members at the scene said the man was in his 20s. Exclusive video obtained by WISN 12 showed the man hanging onto a driver’s side car window as the driver abruptly took off, hit the median and started to drive the wrong way on West Wisconsin Avenue.Moments later, the victim was shot and killed. Witnesses inside of a nail salon told WISN 12 they heard gunshots and one bullet hit their building.They said everyone inside was OK, just shaken and shocked by what they saw.”The lady behind me was having a panic attack because we were stuck here,” said one customer at the salon. “I pray for their family and stuff because he died right here in the cold.”The location of the shooting was a block from Marquette’s campus. One freshman student told WISN 12 he was surprised the shooting happened in broad daylight. “I just hope gun violence goes down in the area,” he said.Marquette police initially stated they are looking for a grey minivan without a front license plate as seen in the video. However, Milwaukee police took over the investigation.Investigators did not confirm this was an isolated incident and have not commented on a potential motive.The victim has not been identified.So far, no arrested have been made.No other details were immediately released.

Marquette police initially stated they are looking for a grey minivan without a front license plate as seen in the video.

However, Milwaukee police took over the investigation.
