Police said Dustin Schumann was behind the wheel of a car that he later crashed.
Police have released video of the tense moments that led up to the Moore police officer being dragged as Schumann, 37, allegedly took off.
Early Wednesday morning near 12th Street and Norman Avenue, police said, an officer contacted Schumann, who has previous felony convictions.
“I know you’ve got a previous gun charge, alright,” the officer can be heard saying.
“I was talking to my girlfriend, that’s it,” Schumann replied.
At times, Schumann can be seen reaching for his phone.
“Can you open up this door for me,” the officer says.
“Whoa whoa whoa. I want my attorney,” replies Schumann.
The officer is unmoved.
“Right now my safety is in danger, I need you to open up this door. Make sure there’s not a weapon,” he said, giving him a final command before trying to remove him from the car.
That’s when the officer found a gun. As the officer tried to arrest him, Schumann hit the gas.
